Well, we were just discussing Modes with Wakefield Museum this morning! It would be a pleasure to see you here again and to discuss our ongoing relationship with Modes. We'll be in touch!

Sadly I'm coming across such ignorant and outrageous comments and attitudes all too often. I've recently started a facebook page called Save Our Museums (UK) (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-Our-Museums-UK/177319775647669) and as a consequence have been trawling the internet for stories and coming across similar assertions from councillors throughout the country. Sadly the reporting of such stories occurs primarily in the local press and I'm convinced that the general public are ignorant of the national picture when it comes to cuts and closures in museums. This was my reason for creating the facebook site but I must admit the picture nationally is far worse than I imagined.
